As you've probably read or heard by now both supporters of the Sharif brothers and the lawayer's movement amassed yesterday March 12th 2009 ready for a long march. They planned to march through the entire country. The Sharif brothers demanding reinstatement and the lawyers demanding that their head honcho ex chief justice be reinstated as well.

Zardari is finally beginning to show a little spine and backbone he's a crook and a thug but surprisingly he's no coward. He has had the Police and it's elite units along with the Army blockade, arrest and ban the long march. He's been pretty successful at it too. The long march was supposed to start from the city of Karachi but the cops under the government's behest had a whole cavalry of large buses form a barricade outside the lawyer's offices. Well that pretty much paralysed the "movement" from the largest city in Pakistan. That combined with a string of arrests of the leaders from all four groups involved in this march.

The other two groups are former cricketer Imaran Khan's party tehrik E Insaaf the guy is a non-entity after he married a Goldsmith. Let's face it in Pakistan you can't marry into one of the most powerful Jewish families in the world and then want to be a politician. It just doesn't work that way. The man in my opinion is an arrogant playboy who became a national hero because he could "chuck" a ball for crying out loud.

The last party involved in the "Long March" is the Jamaati Islami a fundamentalist right wing group aong with it's uglier half the "MMA" both parties are in favour of the Taliban and celebrated when Sharia law was passed in the NWFP. Qazi the leader of the Jamaati the hypocrite that he is ... is an American citizen and has both kids studing in America. If you saw him on television you would never guess this and the illiterate sheep that follow him are not aware of this because news in Pakistan arrives on the backs of camels. The old fart's only purpose in life is to give antigovernment anti-american and anti-israel statements. So this movement has lost all momentum the Lawyer's movememnt has fizzled out and with Holbrooke and Anne being sent immediately over by "Big Brother" to calm things down it's only a matter of time before Zardari gives into the Shariff brothers and reinstates them into the Punjab government. I'm pretty sure his conditions will be clear "Stop supporting the lawyer's movement." That will be the final nail in the Lawyer's movement's coffin and the ex-chief justice can accept the fact that he is no longer employed by the government and his services are not needed. Good Riddance ! Then there is no one to bring up any cprruption cases against Zadari. But then in Pakistan everyone is corrupt. You have a mosque on every street corner here but even if you want to get your motorcycle or car licence renewed you have to "Bribe,Bribe,Bribe." In Pakistan there is a saying common among the population "Yes the government is corrupt but let them steal from us as long as they give a little back to us."

While all this street fighting is going on the Taliban are sipping goat milk and romancing their wives in the north. Or are they ? The sane in this country are saying we don't have our eye on the ball anymore while these "serpents" fight the Taliban grow stronger and laugh at our dissent. The truth is all this "Long March Movememnt" in my opinion is staged to keep the public busy while "Big Brothers" drones decimate the Taliban in the North and oh yes they have been plenty of strikes in the north with guranteed dead fanatics.

As I said in my last post Pakistan does have drone technology ... The air force has lost a few air craft in the north probably dues to technical problems in the air craft and less to do with the Taliban's AA guns. I do believe that pakistan's borders are being redrawn as I type this ever since Sharia was imposed in the north it's definitley signing off the north to Afghanistan. Soon coalition troops will be in the valleys in the north. This is why I believe this long march movememnt is "staged" the majority of people in the country are too stupid to realise what's really going on.

Interestingly America wants Doctor AQ the father of the bomb. He was recently released after a long spell under house arrest. Either we give them AQ or no more aid to the Pak military. Frankly our jets don't fly without American hardware so AQ is probably going to be shipped off to a CIA detention center soon.

It's the final act the "End Game" the greater goal being to take out Pakistan's nukes !

Naval War Games

Writing in again from Lahore ...

Zardari Pakistan's beloved President is a clever saavy politician. He is doing his best to consolidate power for his political party the PPP in Punjab and is gunning for Nawaz Sharif and his brother Nawaz who have been stirring up a storm here in Punjab by rallying with the support of the masses against Zardari.

Pakistan has seen the Lawyer's movement grow very quickly and Nawaz and deposed Judge Iftikhar have joined hands against the government and are preparing for that long march where they will stage a sit-in on constitutional avenue.

Zardari has his Interior Minister Rehman Malik threatening Nawaz and his brother by telling them publically he will have a police case against them if there is any loss of life or property during the march. Interestingly the Lawyer's movement has lost steam since Nawaz and his brother have been rallying for reinstatement of their party in the Punjab. The media frenzy seems to be feeding on the nawaz brothers and not on the "Lawyer's Movement".

As a citizen I will say that his government has managed to stabalise the power situation we had up to 12 hours of blackouts a day and now that has dwindled to 2 hours maximum. I'm not sure if it's IMF loans or the shaking up of the Water and Power Development Authority or a combination of both that has power almost 24 hours a day in most homes in the cities. It keeps citizens sane to say the least.

In an interesting development 5 Chinese ships harassed an American surveilance ship as reported in today's paper. I can say from my own experience  that I have witnessed myself a satellite many times hovering over this region very close to the land in the "Leo Orbit" very similar to the satellite shown in the movie "Body of Lies" with Dicaprio. Most people think it's sci-fi but it is very real. On a similar note the Pakistani Army is trying it's best to get their hands on American drone technology, just yesterday an unmanned Pakistani Airforce craft crashed somewhere in the desert.

The Pakistani Navy sponsored Counter-Terror naval drill is in full swing and is in it's second phase in the Arabian Sea. Besides Pakistan 15 warships and more than 2,000 sailors from 38 countries are taking part in this exercise including America and China. Which makes the news concerning a US spy ship in Chinese waters an amusing piece of news indeed. Ah the double games !

In Peshawar the tip of Pakistan's Wild Wild West in the North the loony Bajaur tribe gave an undetaking to the government to end militancy. These men are mixed up with the Pakistani wing of the Taliban so let's see who committed these religious zealots are to this undertaking.

Musharraf has been telling the local newspapers that the Army is ready to step in and impose martial law. At this point in time I feel that if the present government is removed or weakened anymore than it already is total chaos and anarchy will set in permanently. We have already had one long spell under the General's rules and are not looking forward to anymore this flat foot who once dressed in khakis and lived in government housing who now wears Armani suits and has a Palace in Turkey has obviously grown too big for his boots. His recent tour of America lecturing Americans in Ivy League universities has finally done it. He thinks he is another "Kammla Attaturk" the truth is he was hated as President lead a coup against an elected government and had a brief stint as president of Pakistan where he was revered as much as Bush and his republicans were. History will not remember Musharraf kindly I'm sure he has made zero contribution to this nation. I am going to end my personal rant right there.

As far as the investigation into the Lankan team shooting is concerned citizens were promised that there would be answers last week the investigation is inconclusive our bungling Police are 50 years behind the rest of the world in criminal investigations and there is no concept of DNA evidence here. In most police stations here you will still see old fashioned filing cabinets here (no computers) the cops walked onto the scene contaminate evidence take a few photos write a report file it and shut one of their dusty cabinets and then go back to their Nihari ... Nihair is to cops here what Donuts are to cops in the States. Yes it was an open and shut case the Lankan team shooting was. Police admit it through their in action and stupidity that the team got shot. Now they are going back to their guard duty playing body guard to all the VIP's and fat cats that need protection in this city. Well they have to justify their salaries somehow ?

And that's today's news ladies and gentlemen I won't bore you with the details of the everyday kidnappings and bombings that the taliban are guilty of in the North. I want bore you with the daily news of how some poor schmuck can't find employment and massacred his wife and children and then blew his own brains out. News like this is common and is every day news.

Today is Eid-Ul-Miladul Nabi which is Islam's Prophet Muhammad's birthday. Entire nights are spent praying because it is said angles come down from heaven and grant the worshippers what they wish for. This country needs lots of prayers and I'm sure people are praying for this country, problem is I don't know where God stands on the issue of the future of Pakistan.

To add to the dilemma in this country the PML-N Opposition party's Shahbaz Shariff was ousted by the President from the province of Punjab. He was the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Shahbaz and his brother Nawaz are very popular here in Punjab. So naturally both brothers were furious and have lead large groups of supporters into the city streets rioting and marching.

The President Zardari want's one of his men in the position of  Chief Minister so it's a power struggle remember Zardari is from another province called Sindh and the Punjabis and the Sindhis don't get along all the time there is quite a bit of animosity.

Yes in Pakistan tribal differences, provincial differences and religious sects do matter Pakistanis frequently refer themselves as Punjabi,Sindhi,Pathan all the time.

So Shahbaz is being beamed into every home in Pakistan along with his brother and both are giving fiery anti-government speeches which is tragic because alot of people are saying that in this hour all the politicians need to work together to combat the Taliban who are enjoying this political power games and are using it to their advantage.

Okay now on the Liberty shooting front, the Sri Lankan government is saying that the Tamil Tigers have a hand in this they are saying it's a possibility that the Tigers were trying to kill the team because of the Sri Lankan army's advancing positions on the Tigers. Remeber the Tigers are getting pretty desperate only recently they managed to get a Jet into the cities and tried to bomb them.

The latest news is that an American aircraft was shot down by the taliban in the Northern Front. Now unconfirmed reports from the Cable Tv channels are saying it was a drone that went down.

Our Grand General was in India at a News conference calling himself a "Man of War" but at hear a man of peace. He is very popular in India but do they forget this si the man who organised and staged Kargil War? So there is this Lawyer's movement as well the Chief Justic got the sack and ever since then he's had it in for Zardari and the present government so the Lawyers are constantly marching to the Islamabad the capital and protesting on constitutional avenue in fornt of the Supreme Court because they despise Zardari for sacking the Chief Justice. They are heading for Islamabad and promise to bring the city to a stand still if they're demands aren't met. Now the Shariff brothers have found this to be an opportunity to align themselves with this movement to gain more support from the masses.

People in Pakistan are pretty upset you might think "Well obviously ..." but these days what they are really upset about is the fact that they're truly beloved game of cricket is dead.(Cricket is similar to Baseball) No one wants to come play here and the ICC group the grand daddy of cricket organizations says the World Cup in Pakistan is unlikely. No surprise there !

The death of cricket here and the headlines still mention the kidnapping of Doctor Afia this is the Pakistani doctor who was allegedly handed over to the US authorities (FBI) by Musharraf because she was working with Al-Qaeda. Doctor Afia is an MIT graduate in genetics and she was linked to Al-Qaeda. That's some of the news running in the pappers these days.

Tomorrow is Sunday things should calm down for a day then Monday the fun begins all over again there is never a dul moment in this country will keep you posted

The news channels are carrying news about how the Sri Lankan Team got shot.

Unbelievable 14 men armed with grenades rockets and automatic rifles managed to cut through security in Liberty near the Gaddafi cricket stadium and kill 6 police men (I could be wrong about the number give or take a few) some civvies and managed to walk away. Yes walk away from the scene.

CCTV cameras showed these guys riding off on bikes calmly without any resistance.

They even managed to fire an RPG round at the bus but missed injured some players killed the driver. Then proceeded to spray Police vans and the cops with round after round of ammo.

They even had lots of C-4 managed to start a few explosions before they obliterated the team bus.

You seen the movie "HEAT" ??? Where Deniro and his gang try and get away from the cops in that shootout outside the bank. That is exactly how it was but none of the gang got shot. :)

So this was right in the heart of the city of Lahore a relatively safe metropolitan city in a crowded commercial shopping area called Liberty.

The television stations and there so called experts are saying it's guess who ??? "India" "India" trying to get back at us for Mumbai.

Who knows ? I believe it's an inside job. These guys who walked through the city were soldiers for sure maybe even Commandos ... very well trained.

That truce in the Northern Areas is not holding up the Army isn't doing much after the truce between the government and the Taliban there are still sporadic militant sponsored explosions, kidnappings and shootings just outside the capital city islamabad.

There is a new taliban faction in Balochistan also linked to the taliban so we moderates are pretty much boxed in the cities in which we dwell in.

So Obama needs to out those 17,000 thousand on the boarder and if they Pak Army can sandwich them from Swat there is a chance of reversing this situation.

But then again there is that front in Balochistan.

There was a guy last night sitting in my house sipping vodka after he had just spent the evening with his mistress. (Married man with kids by the way)

He tells me he is in favour of the Taliban taking over because the legal system is corrupt he says his Dad lost land to some group that's squatting on it illegaly. He said

"If the Taliban take over it's a good thing look at my Dad he could have gotten his land back in 2 weeks if the taliban were in control of the judiciary. Yet, my Dad had wait 35 years and the case is till in court without any verdict."

This is the reaction you hear from "Moderates" these days.
